Terms of Service

Plain language summary
SaveElectro helps you save on electricity by showing when prices are cheapest and advising the best time to run your appliances. We provide the service as-is — electricity prices come from Nord Pool and we are not responsible for their accuracy. Premium starts with a 14-day free trial — no charge until day 15. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged and that charge is binding. You can cancel at any time during the trial. We may change or stop the service with reasonable notice. These terms apply to both the Free plan and the Premium plan.

01 Parties

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("User", "you") and Terve Elo Oy ("we", "us", "SaveElectro"), the operator of the SaveElectro service at saveelectro.com.

By creating an account or using the SaveElectro service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

02 The Service

SaveElectro is a digital service that displays real-time and day-ahead electricity spot prices from the Nord Pool exchange for Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Based on your household settings and appliances, SaveElectro provides timing recommendations to help you run appliances during cheaper price periods.

SaveElectro is an informational and advisory service only. It does not control, automate, or directly operate any electrical appliances or systems. All decisions about when and how to use electrical appliances remain entirely with the user.

Electricity price data is sourced from Nord Pool and updated regularly. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the data. Price data may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable due to circumstances outside our control.

03 Plans and Features

Free plan

The Free plan is available at no charge and includes:

  • Live electricity price for 1 country
  • Today's and tomorrow's hourly price chart
  • 1 household and 1 appliance
  • Morning review — today's price overview and best windows for your appliances
  • 2 smart price alerts (below and above threshold)
  • Negative price alert — always active, cannot be disabled

Premium plan

The Premium plan is available by paid subscription and includes all Free plan features plus additional features as described on the pricing page. Premium features include but are not limited to: unlimited households and appliances, consecutive hour window optimisation, weekly routine planner, evening review, real contract price calculation, monthly savings report, family and caretaker notifications, cottage arrival planner, and power conflict groups.

Every new Premium subscription begins with a 14-day free trial. Your payment method is collected at signup but no charge is made until day 15. Full Premium access is granted immediately from day 1 of the trial. By providing your payment details and starting the trial you agree that if you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged on day 15 and that charge constitutes a binding subscription contract. The trial is available once per person and cannot be restarted by re-registering with a different email address.

We may change plan features at any time
We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features from both the Free plan and the Premium plan at any time. For material changes to the Premium plan that reduce functionality, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and offer a prorated refund option. For changes to the Free plan, we will provide reasonable notice via the dashboard or email.

04 Your Account

To use SaveElectro you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access at [email protected]
  • Ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and up to date

You must be at least 18 years old to create a paid account. Free accounts require a minimum age of 16. One person may not maintain multiple accounts to circumvent Free plan limits.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used for fraudulent purposes, or have been inactive for more than 24 consecutive months.

05 Payments and Billing

Premium plan subscriptions are billed monthly in advance at the price displayed on the pricing page at the time of subscription. The current price is €3.99 per month excluding VAT where applicable.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. We do not store, access, or process payment card or bank account details. All payment data is handled exclusively by the respective payment provider under their own terms of service and privacy policy.

VAT

VAT is applied according to the applicable rate in your country of residence as required by EU digital services VAT regulations (EU VAT Directive 2006/112/EC as amended). The applicable VAT rate is calculated at checkout.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you by email. If payment is not received within 7 days of the due date, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. Your data and settings are retained and your account will be upgraded again upon successful payment.

Price changes

We reserve the right to change the subscription price. We will notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price change. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

06 Cancellation and Refunds

Free trial and binding contract

Every new Premium subscription begins with a 14-day free trial. Your payment method is collected at signup but no charge is made during the trial period. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends via Settings → Plan & Billing → Cancel subscription — if you cancel before day 15, your subscription ends immediately and you are never charged.

Important — failure to cancel constitutes a binding contract
If you do not cancel before the end of the 14-day trial period, you will be automatically charged on day 15 at the then-current subscription price. By providing your payment details and starting the trial, you explicitly acknowledge and agree that failure to cancel before the trial ends constitutes your acceptance of a binding monthly subscription contract. SaveElectro will send a reminder before your trial ends. It is your responsibility to cancel if you do not wish to continue.

The free trial is available once per person. It cannot be restarted by re-registering with a different email address or payment method.

Cancellation of a paid subscription

You may cancel your paid Premium subscription at any time via Settings → Plan & Billing → Cancel subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain Premium access until that date. No refunds are issued for the unused portion of a paid monthly period. You had 14 days of free access to evaluate the service before any charge was made — failure to cancel during that period is treated as a binding purchase decision.

Right of withdrawal — EU consumers

Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from a digital service contract within 14 days of your first charge (day 15 of your subscription) without giving a reason, provided you have not actively used Premium features after that charge. By using SaveElectro Premium features — receiving morning or evening reviews, price alerts, or appliance recommendations — after your first charge, you expressly consent to the immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that you lose your statutory right of withdrawal.

The combination of the 14-day free trial and the 14-day statutory withdrawal period means you have up to 28 days from signup to decide whether SaveElectro is right for you, with full access throughout.

To exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of your first charge, stating clearly that you wish to withdraw. Refunds under the statutory right will be processed within 14 days of a valid withdrawal request.

Cancellation by us

We reserve the right to terminate your subscription and account if you breach these Terms, including any attempt to abuse the free trial by re-registering to obtain multiple trials. In such cases, no refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period.

07 Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, update, or change any aspect of the SaveElectro service at any time, including but not limited to:

  • Adding or removing features from either plan
  • Changing the user interface or user experience
  • Changing the data sources or calculation methods used
  • Modifying API endpoints or integration methods
  • Changing the supported countries or electricity markets

For material changes that significantly affect the Premium plan, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by email and via the dashboard. For minor changes or improvements, no advance notice is required.

08 Right to Discontinue the Service

Important — Right to stop providing the service
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently discontinue the SaveElectro service, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to commercial, technical, legal, or regulatory reasons. This right applies equally to the Free plan and the Premium plan.

In the event of permanent discontinuation of the service:

  • We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice to all registered users by email
  • Premium subscribers will receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of their current billing period
  • Users will be given a reasonable opportunity to export their data before the service closes

In the event of a temporary suspension for maintenance, security, or technical reasons, we will restore the service as promptly as practicable. For suspensions exceeding 72 hours, we will notify users by email.

Terve Elo Oy shall not be liable for any losses, damages, or inconvenience arising from the suspension or discontinuation of the service beyond the refund obligations stated above.

09 Acceptable Use

You agree not to use SaveElectro to:

  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute electricity price data for commercial purposes without written permission
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to make excessive API requests beyond normal service usage
  • Misrepresent your identity or provide false registration information
  • Use the service in violation of any applicable law or regulation

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

10 Disclaimer of Warranties

SaveElectro is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
  • Electricity price data will be accurate, complete, or current at all times
  • Timing recommendations will result in actual cost savings for any specific user
  • The service will meet your specific requirements or expectations

Electricity spot prices are determined by Nord Pool and market conditions entirely outside our control. Actual savings depend on your electricity contract, network charges, taxes, and usage patterns which vary by household.

11 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Terve Elo Oy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use SaveElectro, including but not limited to loss of savings, loss of data, or business interruption.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.

12 Country-Specific Terms

SaveElectro is available in 7 countries. The following country-specific consumer protections apply in addition to the general terms above. In the event of a conflict between these country-specific provisions and the general terms, the country-specific provisions prevail for users in that country.

Finnish Consumer Protection Act (Kuluttajansuojalaki 38/1978) applies. 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services not yet activated. Disputes may be referred to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta) at kuluttajariita.fi. Finnish law governs for Finnish residents.

For all EU/EEA countries, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13 Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the service that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the District Court of South Savo (Etelä-Savon käräjäoikeus), unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

For consumer disputes, the applicable country-specific consumer dispute resolution mechanisms described in Section 12 take precedence over court proceedings where legally required.

14 Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms at any time
Terve Elo Oy reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes apply to both the Free plan and the Premium plan. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days in advance via email and dashboard notice.

When we update these Terms:

  • We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • We will notify all registered users by email of material changes
  • We will display a notice on the dashboard for at least 14 days before changes take effect
  • For Premium subscribers, material changes that reduce your rights or increase your obligations require 30 days' notice

Continued use of SaveElectro after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the service and, if you are a Premium subscriber, cancel your subscription before the changes take effect to receive a prorated refund for the unused portion.
